Silicon metal grade 553 is the most common Chinese commodity grade — Si ≥98.5%, Fe ≤0.5%, Al ≤0.5%, Ca ≤0.3%. The workhorse grade for aluminum alloy production and many chemical applications. Per GB/T 2881-2014.
